Shipping and Order Policy

Currently, we are only able to ship within the state of Alaska, unless we have permission from the veterinarian in your state. Our state veterinarian has evaluated our flock, and we have tested negative for Avian Influenza and Pullorum-typhoid.

Please note that shipping hatching eggs involves uncontrollable variables and conditions, so we cannot guarantee hatch rates. At Ellen J Farm, we take precautions to ensure a safe shipment.

Packaging

Hatching eggs are packaged in foam, each box is labeled "Fragile" and "This Side Up" to ensure careful handling. Our bird boxes allow us to adjust the number of holes, allowing us to ship in colder months if called for.

Shipping Costs

All hatching egg orders within the state of Alaska qualify for free shipping. The shipping cost for all other orders will be confirmed at the time of your order, either flat rate or expedited, depending on your preference.

Despite our precautions, we are not liable for broken eggs, missing packages, or late deliveries. We will only issue refunds for damaged orders if we receive reimbursement from the shipping agency. Shipped eggs must be allowed to settle 24 hours before incubation, as this helps improve hatch rates.

 Ordering Policy

Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that orders will be fulfilled as hatching eggs become available. Once your order is filled, you will receive a confirmation email along with a tracking number. Depending on the variety of eggs, the wait time may be up to 3 weeks. If you wish to order an item that is currently out of stock, please fill out the waitlist with your details, and you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that advance payment is required if you are on a waiting list for hatching eggs, particularly during the busy spring season when delays are more common.

Arranged Meeting

Orders may be available for pick-up through an arranged meeting to ensure biosecurity for our flock.
